Judge Cormac J. Carney Succeeds Judge Virginia A. Phillips as Chief Judge of the Central District of California

Effective June 1, 2020, the Honorable Virginia A. Phillips, having served as Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Central District of California since July 1, 2016, has ended her tenure as Chief Judge. Judge Phillips resumes service as an active District Judge in the Court’s Western Division in Los Angeles. The Honorable Cormac J. Carney succeeds Judge Phillips as Chief Judge of the Central District.
