Natasha Alexander-Mingo Appointed as Chief United States Probation and Pretrial Services Officer for the Central District of California
The United States District Court for the Central District of California announces the appointment of Natasha Alexander-Mingo as Chief United States Probation and Pretrial Services Officer, effective February 28, 2022.
Since 2017, Ms. Alexander-Mingo has served as the Assistant Deputy Chief United States Probation and Pretrial Services Officer in the district. Before that, Ms. Alexander-Mingo held a number of supervisory and line probation officer positions in the district since her original appointment in 1995.
Throughout her career, Ms. Alexander-Mingo has been involved in developing and implementing several training programs on a local and national level. Additionally, she has served on various agency teams and committees, such as the District Review Team, Staff Training Aimed at Reducing Rearrest and Evidence-Based Practices Implementation Team, Supervision Policy and Procedure Manual Committee, and Low Risk Caseload Implementation Team.
In June 2021, Natasha was part of a specially formed post-conviction supervision team from the district that received the FBI’s prestigious “Director’s Award Certificate,” presented by the Special Agent in Charge of Counterterrorism in Los Angeles on behalf of FBI Director Christopher Wray. This award was given in recognition of the team’s tireless hours worked on one of the nation’s first terrorism related supervision cases, and it highlighted the team’s dedication to the system’s mission, as well as their collaboration efforts with the FBI in combating international and domestic terrorism.
Natasha holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice from California State University, Long Beach and a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Chapman University.
The United States Probation and Pretrial Services Office in the Central District of California is one of the largest probation and pretrial services offices in the federal system with over 240 officers and support staff serving 30 senior and active Article III judges and 24 magistrate judges. The Probation and Pretrial Services Office’s jurisdiction includes seven counties in the metropolitan Los Angeles area and there are 11 branch offices.
