Douglas F. McCormick was appointed as a U.S. Magistrate Judge in 2013. Before his appointment, Judge McCormick was an Assistant United States Attorney in the Criminal Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California for almost 13 years. Before serving as a federal prosecutor, Judge McCormick was a civil litigator at Latham & Watkins in Costa Mesa. He started his career by serving as a law clerk to two federal judges, the Honorable Gary L. Taylor of the United States District Court for the Central District of California and the Honorable Charles E. Wiggins of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. He attended the UCLA School of Law and received his undergraduate degrees from the University of California, Irvine.
