Judge Alka Sagar

Alka Sagar was appointed as a United States Magistrate Judge in 2013. Prior to her appointment, she served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in Los Angeles where she held the positions of Deputy Chief in the Major Frauds Section and Deputy Chief in the Major Crimes Section, and handled complex fraud and criminal tax prosecutions. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, she was an associate at two Los Angeles law firms. Judge Sagar also served as judge pro tem in the Los Angeles Superior Court.
Judge Sagar received her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and her law degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law.
